WASHINGTON: The launch of the T1 smartphone by Trump Mobile has been delayed until October after the company postponed its original August release schedule.

The T1 phone was first unveiled in June alongside the launch of Trump Mobile, generating attention as part of the company’s push into the mobile technology market.

Speaking to USA Today, company representative O’Brien said the release was delayed to further refine the device and improve its overall quality.

“But in our view, the delay was worth it because we’re delivering a great product,” he said.

According to the company, the first batch of T1 smartphones has already been assembled in the United States, while future models are expected to rely largely on US-made components.

The company has positioned the device as a domestically focused product aimed at strengthening American manufacturing in the technology sector.

T1 smartphone features

The T1 smartphone comes with a gold finish, a 6.78-inch display, a fingerprint sensor, and advanced features including artificial intelligence (AI) face unlock and a triple camera setup.

Additionally, it runs on Android and is priced at $499, with customers having to pay a $100 refundable deposit to reserve the device.

Along with the phone, Trump Mobile is also offering a 5G wireless plan called the ‘47 Plan’, which costs $47.45 per month and refers to US President Donald Trump’s two presidential terms.

The phone is currently available only in the US, and there has been no official announcement of its availability in Pakistan or other countries.

Trump Mobile is not directly owned by Donald Trump, but is operated under the Trump Media and Technology Group (TMTG). The phone is often manufactured and serviced by a licensed company.

Donald Trump’s name and brand are used primarily for marketing purposes, and the company pays a licensing fee to use them. He is not directly involved in the manufacturing or day-to-day operations of the phone.

That is, by purchasing a Trump mobile, consumers receive a phone and service with the Trump brand, but the actual owner and production belong to another company, while Trump’s role is limited to authorizing the brand and using it for advertising purposes.
