BEIJING: US President Donald Trump has arrived in China on a 3-day official visit, where he was given a warm and grand welcome upon his arrival in Beijing.
During the visit, President Trump will hold an important meeting with Chinese President Xi Jinping, in which the two leaders will discuss trade tensions, bilateral relations, and issues related to the global economy.
According to US media reports, Chinese Vice President Han Zheng welcomed President Trump upon his arrival in Beijing. The US ambassador to China, the Chinese ambassador to the US and China’s Executive Vice Foreign Minister Ma Zhaoxu were also present on the occasion.
About 300 Chinese youth were also present to welcome President Trump, carrying the flags of both countries.
During the visit, President Trump will meet with Chinese President Xi Jinping, where important global and bilateral issues will be discussed.
The US president is accompanied by his family and close friends, including his son Eric Trump, daughter-in-law Lara Trump and Elon Musk.
Speaking to the media before leaving for Beijing, President Trump said that he would discuss the situation in Iran and the region in detail with the Chinese president.
He said that he would urge China to further open up US markets.
