WhatsApp introduces file sharing without internet: Here’s all you need to know

ISLAMABAD: Meta-owned messaging application WhatsApp is working on a new feature that will make it easier for users to share files even without an internet connection.

The platform is working on ways to let people share photos, videos, music and documents offline, according to recent leaks.

According to WABetaInfo, Meta’s application is actively working on this feature to allow users to share different types of files without the need for an internet connection.

Shared files will also be encrypted, making it difficult for anyone to tamper with or corrupt them.

Additionally, leaked screenshots of the latest WhatsApp beta for Android have shown the permissions that the app will require for the feature to work.

A prominent option is to find nearby phones that also support this offline file sharing feature.

For native file sharing on Android, a standard system is allowed that lets apps scan for nearby devices via Bluetooth. Notably, users will have the option to turn off this access if they wish to do so.
