CALIFORNIA: X, formerly known as Twitter, will shift to an all-AI algorithm for the main feed by November 2025.
This news is straight from Elon Musk and Nikita Bier, Head of Product for X. The shift will make the users have a more relevant and personal feed and less exposure to algorithmic content, mainstream, and politically centered posts.
In Bier’s post, users will be able to dynamically control their feeds using Grok, X’s AI assistant. The feature provides users with the ability to customize their timeline according to their interests and determines that content is comparable to individual preferences.
Open Source Algorithm
Musk and Bier ensured that X will release its algorithm as open source biweekly. The measure of openness enables users to see how content is curated and offer feedback to enhance it. By the late 2025 period, users will be able to instruct Grok to alter their feed in real-time.
Bier highlighted in her post, “The goal for your X timeline is to get out of the mainstream algo and the political crusades and find your niche.” She added that existing accounts that are showing irrelevant content, like arbitrary viral videos, have yet to completely transition, but changes are being made continuously to provide a more relevant feed.

The updates also state that Grok will have a “Read Aloud” feature, where users can hear AI-generated answers in a natural voice. The feature is being put in place for increased accessibility and user interaction.
