ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has predicted additional rains for the twin cities of Islamabad and Rawalpindi over the next 24 hours. Even though heavy rains on Monday evening initiated high alarms in other areas of the twin cities.
As per PMD, the H-8 sector of Islamabad recorded the maximum rainfall of 66mm, followed by Shamsabad with 59mm. The full capacity of Rawal Dam is 1,752 feet, whereas the present water level is 1,735.5 feet.
Gilgit-Baltistan glaciers are melting rapidly as a result of continuous heat waves. Likewise, in Simly Dam, the present level has reached up to 2,247.55 feet against its capacity of 2,315 feet.
WASA Managing Director stated that Nullah Lai at Katarian had a water level of 12.5 feet, and Gawalmandi Bridge had a water level of 6.5 feet.
Governments have instructed people in low-lying regions to refrain from unnecessary travel. Rain is also predicted for Murree, Galiyat, Rawalpindi, Jhelum, Attock, Chakwal, Gujrat, Sialkot, Gujranwala, and Narowal.
The majority of the Sindh districts will be hot and humid, while Gilgit-Baltistan will probably remain dry. Azad Kashmir will experience rain along with thunder and gusty winds.
