Iran weather system may carry polluted particles into Pakistan as it moves toward the country, according to the Pakistan Meteorological Department.
Officials said the Iran weather system will enter Pakistan through Iran on Tuesday. It is expected to bring rain and strong winds to several areas.
The Pakistan Meteorological Department stated that northeastern parts of Balochistan are likely to receive rainfall under the influence of this system.
Rainfall may continue for up to three days. Strong winds may also blow during this period.
Earlier, concerns had been raised after reports from Iran about heavy bombardment on oil facilities and unusual dark rainfall in some areas. These developments created fears that nearby countries could also feel environmental effects.
According to the weather department, western winds carrying polluted particles could reach western regions of Pakistan.
These winds may temporarily affect air quality in some parts of the country.
However, the Pakistan Meteorological Department has clearly rejected the possibility of “black rain” in Pakistan.
Officials said regional offices have been instructed to collect rain samples. These samples will be tested to check whether the Iran weather system contains pollution-related particles.
The department said the situation is being closely monitored to understand any environmental impact.
