Islamabad weather forecast: Heavy rainfall, gusty winds anticipated

PMD issues new rain forecast

ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) predicts that in Islamabad and its surroundings, the weather will be humid and partly cloudy, with the possibility of heavy rain in the afternoon or evening, accompanied by strong winds, and thunder.

The maximum temperatures expected in the federal capital are anticipated at 36 degrees Celsius, whereas the minimum temperatures will range up to 24 degrees Celsius.

Humidity levels will range between 75 to 82%. In addition, the wind is blowing at the speed of 29 km/h in the southwest direction.

A powerful new monsoon system is set to enter Pakistan today, bringing heavy rains across Punjab and Sindh until August 29.

Moreover, The Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) has issued a fresh alert for more monsoon rains in Punjab starting today.

Heavy rains are expected in Islamabad,  Murree, Galiyat, Attock, Chakwal, Talagang, Mianwali, Sargodha, Jhelum, Sialkot, Narowal, Bahawalpur, Bahawalnagar, Dera Ghazi Khan, and Rahim Yar Khan, with the potential for flooding in D.G. Khan, Multan, and Bahawalpur divisions.

In Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan, partly cloudy skies are expected, with chances of thunder and rain at a few locations.

Residents are advised to carry umbrellas when traveling during nighttime and stay updated with the latest weather forecast.
