Islamabad weather: Heavy rainfall may cause flash floods

Rain forecast for upper Pakistan, heatwave to persist in South

ISLAMABAD: The residents of Islamabad experienced heavy rainfall from morning, whereas light cool wind blew all day long, making the weather bearable as compared to the last few days.

According to the Pakistan Meteorological Department, Heavy rains may generate flash floods in local nullahs/streams of Upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Kashmir, Gilgit-Baltistan, Pothohar region, and North-East Punjab.

Partly cloudy weather with rain-wind/thundershower is expected in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Kashmir, Islamabad, Punjab, Upper/Southeastern Sindh, North/Southeastern Balochistan, and Gilgit-Baltistan. Isolated heavyfalls are also expected in Upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Potohar region, Kashmir, North-East/South Punjab & Northeast Balochistan.

Heavy falls/windstorms and lightning may damage weak structures like the roof/wall of Kacha houses, electric poles, billboards, vehicles, and solar panels during the forecast period. Public, travellers, and tourists are advised to avoid unnecessary exposure to vulnerable areas and remain updated about the latest weather conditions.
