KARACHI: The Monsoon system will continue to pour rain across the country from tomorrow till August 5, according to the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD).
Monsoon winds will enter the country from July 29. The westerly wind is currently affecting the northern areas and will affect the upper and central areas of the country from August 1.
The PMD said that there may be rain in Kashmir with strong winds and thunderstorms from the night of July 28 to August 5. Rain is likely in Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Murree, Lahore and other areas from July 29, while rain is expected in Bahawalpur, Bahawalnagar, Khanpur, DI Khan and other areas from July 31.
In addition, rain is expected in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa from July 29 to August 5, rain with strong winds and thunderstorms is expected in Gilgit-Baltistan from the evening of July 28 to August 6, and in different areas of Balochistan from July 31 to August 3.
As per the PMD, rain is possible in several districts of Sindh from July 31 to August 2, with thunderstorms likely in Badin, Thatta, Karachi and Sujawal.
The PMD also reports a risk of flooding in rivers and canals, and a risk of urban flooding in low-lying areas from July 30 to August 4.
Due to the presence of a system in the Arabian Sea, there is a possibility of rain in Karachi too
