Rain likely in various cities including Islamabad

Rain with wind and thunderstorms has been predicted in most parts of the country from today to April 4.

ISLAMABAD: The Meteorological Department has warned citizens suffering from heatwave.

According to the Meteorological Department, there is a possibility of rain in Islamabad during the next one to three hours.

On the other hand, the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) has issued an alert regarding rains with wind and thunderstorms in various parts of the country today.

According to the NDMA, rain is expected in Chitral, Dir, Swat, Battagram, Mansehra, Abbottabad, Haripur, Swabi, Mardan, Charsadda, Peshawar, Kohat, Parachinar, Karak, Bannu, Dera Ismail Khan and Waziristan.

In addition, there is a possibility of rain in Turbat, Kech, Awaran, Khuzdar and Zhob in Balochistan, while in Jacobabad, Sukkur, Larkana, Khairpur, Dadu, Ghotki, Kashmore, Shikarpur, Shaheed Benazirabad and Karachi in Sindh.

The NDMA has also warned of the risk of glacial lake outbursts in Gilgit-Baltistan, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Azad Kashmir.
The NDMA has directed provincial and district agencies to ensure emergency preparedness to deal with possible weather conditions and citizens to take precautionary measures.
