UAE weather update: NCM issues Red, yellow alerts, temperatures to dip below 6°C

ABU DHABI: In a recent weather update, the UAE Nationentre of Meteorology (NCM) weather department has issued Red and yellow alerts of fog for Friday, warning motorists of low visibility.

Additionally, the Abu Dhabi Police took to X formally known as the twitter and alerted drivers to reduced speed limits on some roads and urged them to exercise caution.

Overall, the weather will maintain from fair to partly cloudy during the day. Whereas, light to moderate winds will blow, with a speed varying from 10-25 reaching 35 kmph.  The temperatures are set to drop below 6 degrees in mountainous areas with Dubai and Abu Dhabi to witness temperatures ranging up to 17 degrees Celsius.

The mercury will rise to 24°C in internal areas; Abu Dhabi and Dubai will see highs of 26°C and 27°C, respectively. It will be humid by night and Saturday morning with a probability of mist forming over western areas. Conditions will be slight in the Arabian Gulf and Oman sea.
