Westerly winds to hit upper areas; river levels likely to rise

Flood risk in major cities as NDMA warns of severe weather

ISLAMABAD: The Meteorological Department says that westerly winds will affect the upper parts of the country tomorrow evening, and the water level in the Kabul River and other rivers is expected to increase during January 22-23.

According to the details released by the organization, rain is likely in Swat, Chitral, Buner, Shangla, Lower and Upper Dir, Malakand, Bajaur, and Mardan.

Rain and snowfall are expected in Swabi, Abbottabad, Mansehra, Battagram, Torghar, Haripur, Kolai Palace. PDMA, DDMA, administration, and emergency services have been directed to ensure full preparedness.

The Chief Meteorologist says that residents of low-lying areas should be cautious and avoid unnecessary movement.
