ISLAMABAD: The Henley Passport Index, which measures the power of passports and travel freedom around the world, has released its latest report, according to which the American passport has dropped out of the top 10 countries for the first time in history.
According to the report, Singapore has become the world’s most powerful passport with visa-free entry to 193 countries, while South Korea (190 countries) and Japan (189 countries) are in second and third place respectively. The United States has now risen to 12th place and is jointly ranked with Malaysia.
Citizens of both countries can travel visa-free to 180 of the world’s 227 countries and territories. The report said that the United States was in first place in 2014, but its ranking has been continuously decreasing in recent years due to changes in the visa policies of several countries.
