TEHRAN: Tehran has strongly denied recent claims by former US President Donald Trump and foreign media suggesting Iranian access to Oman for talks and diplomatic maneuvers.
In an interview with a foreign journalist, Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi dismissed reports that a negotiating team had been dispatched to Muscat as “completely false.” He stressed that no Iranian delegation had been sent to Oman for talks.
The Iranian mission to the United Nations also rejected Trump’s claim that Iranian officials had requested a meeting at the White House. “No Iranian official has ever asked to enter the White House. The only thing more despicable than his lies is the cowardly threat to ‘extract’ Iran’s Supreme Leader,” the mission said in a post on X.
The statement came after Trump claimed that Iranian representatives had approached him for talks. Iran responded strongly, saying: “Iran does not negotiate under duress, will not accept peace under pressure, and certainly not with the warmth of clinging to conformity,” echoing the stance of Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.
In a televised statement, Khamenei reiterated that Iran would never accept unconditional surrender or threats. “This nation will never surrender to anyone’s imposition,” he warned, warning that any U.S. military action would cause “irreparable harm.”
He added that Iran’s future, whether peace or conflict, would not be dictated by external powers. Khamenei stressed that Americans should know that any U.S. military intervention would undoubtedly cause irreparable harm.
