Iran says Pakistan top priority if talks resume

Islamabad expected to host new round of US-Iran negotiations

ISLAMABAD: Iranian officials said that Pakistan is our priority if there is a second round of talks with the US, according to a media report.

The report added that News is circulating that another round of talks between the US and Iran will be held in Islamabad soon.

It should be noted that the British news agency Reuters has reported, citing sources, that delegations from the US and Iran may come to Islamabad again this week for peace talks.

On the other hand, an official from the Iranian embassy in Pakistan also told Reuters in an interview that the next round of US-Iran talks could take place this week or early next week.

Earlier, the US news agency had quoted two Pakistani officials as saying that Pakistan has offered to host the second round of talks between the US and Iran.

The US news agency said that the talks between Iran and the US could take place in Islamabad on Thursday.
