DOHA: The foreign ministers of Pakistan, Jordan, the United Arab Emirates, Indonesia, Turkey, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, and Egypt have welcomed the US President’s efforts for a ceasefire in Gaza.
A joint statement issued by Muslim countries praised President Trump’s proposed plan, which includes the reconstruction of Gaza, the prevention of the forced displacement of the Palestinian people, a ceasefire, and the announcement of a comprehensive peace process.
According to the statement, President Trump has also assured that the annexation of the West Bank will not be allowed.
In the statement, the foreign ministers said that they are ready to engage with the US and other parties positively and constructively to finalize the agreement and ensure its implementation, which will result in peace, security and stability for the people of the region.
The statement reiterated the commitment to work with the US on a comprehensive agreement to end the war in Gaza.
According to the joint statement, the comprehensive agreement includes the provision of full humanitarian aid to Gaza, the prevention of the eviction of the Palestinian people, and the release of hostages
These include security guarantees for all parties, the complete withdrawal of Israeli forces, the reconstruction of Gaza, and the full integration of Gaza and the West Bank into a single Palestinian state under a two-state solution.
The declaration said that these measures are key to peace and security in the region in accordance with international law.
