RIYADH: According to a report by the British news agency Reuters, Saudi Arabia warned Iran that it supports a diplomatic solution to the dispute between Tehran and the United States, but Riyadh will retaliate if attacks on the kingdom or its energy facilities continue.
The British news agency quoted sources as saying that the Gulf countries have not allowed the United States to use its airspace to attack Iran, but if the attacks continue, Saudi Arabia may allow US forces to use its bases.
While Iran says that it is not targeting Gulf countries but US targets and interests, Iran demands that US military bases in the region be closed.
According to the report, Saudi Arabia has been in constant contact with Tehran through its ambassador since the attacks by the US and Israel against Iran began on February 28.
On the other hand, Saudi Arabia and Iran have not yet responded to the British news agency’s report.
