LAHORE: The Punjab government has changed the driving license fee across the province.
With the revision of the driving license fee after a gap of 20 years, the provincial government has hiked the fee for learner licenses, cars, motorcycle licenses and others.
However, CM Maryam Nawaz-led Punjab government has not announced any change in fee for licenses in the upcoming Fiscal Year budget, starting from July 1, 2024.
The fees for all license types including motorcycle and learner licenses have been impacted by this revision.
Learner License Fee from July 2024
The provincial government would keep the fee unchanged for the issuance of learner driving licenses at Rs500 from next month, July 2024.
Motorcycle Driving License Fee in Punjab
Previously, the government received a Rs 550 fee for a motorcycle driving license with five-year validity. However, it now charges Rs500 every year for the license.
Car, Jeep Driving License Fee Update
Before January 2024, the fee for a car, and jeep driving license stood at Rs950 for a five-year driving license. Now, the government will receive Rs1,800 every year from the citizens.
By streamlining income generation and administration in the licensing process, these price adjustments hope to ensure long-term support for continuing infrastructural and regulatory requirements in Punjab’s transportation industry.
