ISLAMABAD: The Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) has launched a nationwide crackdown on narcotics, conducting 10 operations across Pakistan that resulted in the seizure of 373 kilograms of drugs worth Rs340 million.
The operations took place in various cities, including Lahore, Karachi, Chaman, Pasni, Gwadar, Islamabad, Quetta, and Rawalpindi.
In one operation at Lahore Airport, ANF officials arrested a Jeddah-bound passenger and recovered 783 grams of ice. In another operation in Karachi, 1.140 kilograms of ice and 50 grams of heroin were seized from a parcel booked for Australia at a courier office.
Meanwhile, in the Chaman area, 190 kilograms of heroin was recovered.
In addition, ANF officials recovered 100 kilograms of hashish and 22 kilograms of opium from the Pasni and Gwadar areas. A vehicle intercepted on the M-1 Motorway in Islamabad yielded 31.2 kilograms of hashish and 1.2 kilograms of opium, leading to the arrest of one accused.
Further, 12 kilograms of hashish were recovered from two suspects near a restaurant in Quetta.
In Rawalpindi, 6 kilograms of hashish were seized from an accused arrested on Peshawar Road. Similarly, 6 kilograms of hashish were recovered from three suspects in RCD Road Hub.
In Lahore, 2.6 kilograms of hashish and 260 grams of opium were seized from two suspects near a university.
The ANF has registered cases under the Anti-Narcotics Act against the arrested individuals and is conducting further investigations. These operations demonstrate the ANF’s commitment to eradicating narcotics and ensuring public safety.
