KARACHI: The payments of the new installment of financial assistance under the Benazir Income Support Program have been started in phases, under which the funds are being provided to the deserving women.
According to a statement issued by the Benazir Income Support Program (BISP), the new phase of payments has started from May 18, 2026. This phase includes regular payments as well as child allowances.
The statement said that the beneficiaries whose wallet accounts were blocked on or before May 15, 2026, will be able to receive their money from the relevant wallet account.
According to BISP, those deserving women who have not yet changed their wallet accounts can also receive the money through any authorized payment camp or agent in their district.
The authorities have directed all beneficiaries to carry their original identity documents with them while receiving the payment and not to pay any additional amount to any unrelated person or agent. The BISP administration says that providing payments to all beneficiaries in a timely and transparent manner is the government’s priority.
On the other hand, it has been made easier for the beneficiaries under the Benazir Income Support Program to get their eligibility and payment information.
The beneficiaries of the program can find out their eligibility and payment details through their CNIC number through the official 8171 web portal or SMS.
According to BISP, the quarterly installment under the Benazir Kafalat Program has been increased from Rs 13,500 to Rs 19,500.
To get information about their amount, the beneficiaries and families should go to the 8171 portal and enter the 13-digit CNIC number, type the captcha code, and check the eligibility or click on the relevant button. After this, eligibility, payment, and other necessary details are displayed on the screen.
People without internet access can also get their information through the 8171 SMS service. For this, write the CNIC number without the dash in the message box of the mobile and send it to 8171, after which a response regarding eligibility or payment is received.
According to BISP officials, 8171 is the official number of the program; messages from any other number should not be trusted.
