ISLAMABAD: The federal cabinet on Monday approved a new honorarium policy for government employees, giving discretionary powers to the finance minister to determine the honorarium for employees of economic ministries, parliament and the Prime Minister’s Office.
Under the policy, the finance minister will have the authority to determine the amount of honorarium, focusing on employees in key economic divisions, such as Finance Division, Revenue Division, Federal Board of Revenue (FBR), Planning, Development, and Special Initiatives Division, and others.
The policy is designed to streamline honorarium payments by addressing the need for additional financial rewards for government employees.
Earlier this month, the Economic Coordination Committee (ECC) of the cabinet approved a new policy for honorarium payments to federal government employees. Government employees will receive incentive payments for exceptional performance in ministries and departments.
