LPG prices receive significant surge as winter season begins in Pakistan

Shopkeepers selling LPG on higher rates, consumers worried

KARACHI: The Liquid Petroleum Gas (LPG) has received a significant surge in Pakistan, in Karachi it is being sold at 230 to 250 rupees per kilogram as against the price of 201 rupees.

The residents of Karachi have been facing extreme difficulties as inflation is rising in the region and the claims of relief made by the governmnet are fading away.

The LPG is being sold in Karachi for far above the official rates. The government rate is 201 rupees per kilogram, whereas in different areas of the city, the LPG is being sold from 230 to 250 rupees per kilogram.

Citizens also complained that shopkeepers were charging arbitrary prices and that the rates fixed by OGRA were not being implemented.

They have demanded that the authorities take immediate action against those violating official rates so that the public may be given some relief.
