Petrol, diesel hit Rs500 per litre in Balochistan

QUETTA: The shortage of petroleum products has intensified in various districts of Balochistan, due to which the prices of petrol and diesel have increased to an unprecedented level.

According to sources, petrol and diesel are being sold for up to Rs 500 per liter in some areas, while citizens are facing severe difficulties due to the disruption of fuel supply at petrol pumps in many cities.

Locals say that the transport system is also being affected due to the shortage of petroleum products, while there is a possibility of a negative impact on the delivery of essential goods.

Citizens have demanded that the government and the relevant authorities ensure the supply of petroleum products and take immediate action against illegal profiteering.

On the other hand, officials say that the situation is being monitored and steps are being taken to restore the supply of petroleum products.

According to President Petroleum Dealers Association Qayamuddin Agha, the supply of petrol from Shikarpur has been increased, and the situation will return to normal in a day or two.

Deputy Commissioner (DC) Quetta says that the rush at petrol pumps has increased due to the stoppage of the Iranian petrol supply. Today, 6 lakh liters of petrol have been supplied to petrol pumps in Quetta.
