ISLAMABAD: The Pakistani rupee recorded a marginal gain against the US dollar on the second day of the business week, according to the State Bank of Pakistan.
The US dollar depreciated by one paisa in the interbank market, closing at Rs278.90 compared to the previous day’s Rs278.91.
Meanwhile, the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) ended the session on a positive note. The benchmark KSE-100 Index surged by 959 points to close at 173,155.
During intraday trading, the index reached a high of 175,298, reflecting strong investor activity. A day earlier, the index had closed at 172,196.
Market analysts attributed the positive momentum to improved investor confidence and buying activity across key sectors.
