ISLAMABAD: The Ministry of Federal Education and Professional Training has started work on solarising 100 rural schools in Islamabad to ensure a reliable and sustainable power backup for smooth functioning of classes, here on Sunday.
As per the education ministry, the initiative aims to ensure uninterrupted learning experiences and support modern education ecosystems.
The ministry said that 100 rural ICT schools will be converted to solar power and reliable renewable energy will be provided for schools and labs. It said that the project is expected to be completed in 20 months.

“The ministry is committed in enhancing educational outcomes through technology integration. This sustainable energy solution will reduce carbon footprint, overcome power outages, foster digital literacy, and support Pakistan’s vision for a technologically advanced education system,” the ministry said.
“By harnessing solar energy, we’re empowering future generations with access to quality education, bridging the digital divide, and contributing to a greener tomorrow” it added.
