CM Sindh announces Google Career Certificate scholarships for students

KARACHI: In a groundbreaking move, Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah, has announced 30,000 Google Career Certificate Scholarships available to students from 30 universities across the province.

This initiative seeks to provide training in project management, cybersecurity, and artificial intelligence (AI), as well as a specific quota for women and disadvantaged groups.

The scholarships were officially launched at the Chief Minister House, where a signing ceremony took place to formalize the deal between the Sindh government, Google, and Teach Valley.

CM Murad Ali Shah stated that digital skills are key to Pakistan‘s SocioEconomic Development, and the scholarships are an investment in the youth of the province and of Sindh, respectively.

This scholarship initiative expands on a previous initiative last year consisting of 1,500 scholarships given to students from 10 public universities, and, importantly, all students taking the courses completed their Google Career Certificate courses that typically range from three to six months.

CM Sindh expressed his objective of getting students from the province world-class training and skills and stated the funding and scholarships would enhance student digital skills while also contributing to the growth and development of Sindh as a province.
