Exam scheduled for JSMU on September 9 postponed

Universities in Islamabad postpone exams amid Shaheen Chowk underpass construction

KARACHI: In light of potential rains in Karachi, Jinnah Sindh Medical University’s paper has been postponed today.

University Registrar Dr. Azam Khan has released the notification in this regard.

According to the notification, the university and its affiliated colleges and institutes are obligated to adopt work-from-home arrangements.

Online classes will also be held according to the schedule, Registrar Azam Khan said in the notification.

The exams scheduled for September 9, 2025, are delayed until the new dates are released, the registrar added.

Earlier, the Meteorological Department warned of the risk of urban flooding in Karachi today, predicting heavy to heavy rain.

According to meteorologists, 4 to 6 spells of rain are expected in the city today, with some places potentially receiving more than 100 mm of rain.

The Meteorological Department says that this is an unusual weather system that is entering Sindh from India in the form of a depression, and its path is also unclear and complex, due to which the intensity of the rain may vary in different areas.

In view of the heavy rains, there has been a fear of urban flooding in the city, while a flood situation also arose in the Malir River yesterday, which had been dry for a long time.
