LAHORE: The Punjab Government has amended the transfer policy, allowing the female teacher to transfer to the district of their spouse’s residence immediately after marriage.
The policy has been amended for better support to the female faculty of the schools in Punjab province.
According to the updated e-Transfer Policy 2024, married female teachers can now apply for transfers to their spouse’s district or workplace once during their service.
A new category has also been formally included under the list of “hardship” cases, recognizing the need to keep families united. The policy also includes that transfers under this provision can now be made throughout the year, rather than during specific rounds.
The education office of the working district must collaborate with the receiving district to grant a No Objection Certificate (NOC) when female teachers want to transfer across divisions or districts.
To make sure this approach is open, effective, and consistent, new protocols have been described. The policy currently prioritizes several hardship categories for transfer petitions in order to give fairness first priority.
