Schools in KPK closed till March 10 due to extreme weather conditions

KPK – Because of the severe weather in the province, which is getting worse every day owing to rain and snowfall, many educational institutions in KP have been closed until March 10, 2024.

The Deputy Commissioner of KP reportedly sent out a notification stating, “These government schools are covered in snow and the learning process is not possible,” according to sources. According to the Deputy Commissioner’s directive, the following KP schools will remain closed till March 10, 2024.

  1. GPS, Hasham Killi, Tirah
  1. GPS, Habib Shah Killi, Tirah

  1. GPS, Masood Killi, Tirah
  1. GPS, Mina Baz, Tirah
  1. GPS, Misri Khan Takhtakai, Tirah
  1. GPS, Niaz Muhammad, Tirah
  1. GPS, Zafar Killi, Tirah
  1. GPS, Zangi, Tirah
  1. GGMS, Zanjeer Killi, Tirah
  1. GGPS, Kham Killi, Tirah
  1. GGPS, Lalmat Shah, Tirah

Previous to this, poor weather—specifically, a lot of rain and snow in the area—had forced the closure of educational institutions in Sawat and Upper Dir. The Deputy Commissioner of Upper Dir released a statement indicating that the region’s high levels of precipitation and snowfall had caused all roads and pathways to become blocked. For this reason, Upper Dir’s educational institutions will stay closed until Friday, March 8, 2024. Additionally, as of March 9, 2024, schools in Swat are already shuttered.
