CHITRAL: In a modern twist on a classic love story, 23-year-old Pakistani youth Shahad Hussain from Chitral has married 18-year-old Flores Sarah from the US. The couple met through the popular online game PUBG and started their relationship.
Their three-year online courtship culminated in a traditional wedding ceremony held at a private hotel in Chitral. The marriage was performed by Maulana Khaliq-uz-Zaman, the preacher of the Shah Masjid in Chitral.
Sarah’s mother attended the ceremony, and the marriage took place with Sarah’s full consent. No name change was required for Sarah, as it is already an Islamic name.
Raisuddin, a resident of Marooi area of Chitral, confirmed the couple’s three-year relationship and said that Sarah had taken permission from her mother before marrying Shahid.
The wedding ceremony was held as per local traditions, with Sarah dressed in traditional bridal attire and her mother in local attire. The ceremony was also attended by women from the surrounding areas.
