BISP Increases Financial Aid Under Kafalat to Support Low-Income Families

Govt increases BISP monthly stipend from 14,000 to 18,000

ISLAMABAD: BISP increases financial aid under Kafalat as the program announces more support for deserving families this Ramadan. The Benazir Income Support Program (BISP) has raised the quarterly financial assistance to help low-income households cope with rising prices.

The Kafalat programme aid, previously Rs13,500 per quarter, is now Rs14,500. This Rs1,000 increase is aimed at providing additional relief to families struggling with everyday expenses.

Apart from Kafalat, BISP has also increased grants under the Benazir Educational Stipend and Benazir Nutrition Programme. Each of these initiatives now offers up to Rs500 more, helping families manage children’s education and nutrition costs.

It should be recalled that last year too, the government increased the quarterly assistance under the Kafalat program by Rs. 2,000, taking the amount from Rs. 10,500 to Rs. 13,500.

Officials say that the recent increase in the assistance amount has been made in view of inflation so that the economic hardship of deserving women can be reduced and their household expenses can be facilitated.
