13 people martyred in Azad Kashmir amid Indian shelling

India's unprovoked shelling along LoC

MUZAFFARABAD: At least 13 people have embraced martyrdom in Azad Jammu and Kashmir due to Indian shelling in various areas across the region since last night, according to Mazhar Hussain Shah, spokesperson for the government of Azad Kashmir.

More than 50 people have sustained injuries due to heavy shelling by the Indian forces, adding that a 10-year-old minor is also among the martyrs.

The injured are being shifted to hospitals for treatment, Moreover, the government has also imposed emergency in the region yesterday due to prevailing sitauation.

Prior to this, the Prime Minister of Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK), Chaudary Anwarul Huq, had imposed a state of emergency across the region.

Prime Minister of Azad Kashmir Anwarul Haq had issued immediate instructions to the State Disaster Management Authority (SDMA) in this regard.

The Prime Minister of Azad Kashmir has said that all relevant institutions should be on alert for the protection of citizens, provision of basic facilities, and dealing with any emergency.

Earlier, in a befitting response to Indian forces, the Pakistan Army has destroyed several Indian posts, security sources said.

“Pakistan Army completely destroyed Rabtanwali Post, Jazira Post Complex, Kafir Mehri, Shahpar 3, Ghadar Top on the Line of Control (LoC),” itadded.

“Pakistan’s forces, full of the spirit of martyrdom, are giving a befitting reply to the enemy,” sources said. The brave Pakistani forces silenced the Indian guns, they maintained.
