Barrister Aqeel Malik said that if the meeting is in a personal capacity, then the law does not hinder it, but on the government consultation with a leader who is in prison, constitutional aspects come to the fore, which need to be reviewed.

According to him, transparency and adherence to legal requirements during cabinet formation are basic principles on which no compromise can be made.

He said that the PML-N and the PPP are allies in the federation, but in Azad Kashmir, both parties will play a responsible role as the opposition.

Azad Kashmir has its own constitutional structure, so politics there will proceed on a different scale than in the federation.

He said, “Where there is government, there will be cooperation, and where there is opposition, there will be talk about the rights of the people.” He was speaking on ABN News’ program “Sawaal Se Aage” and said that

Barrister Aqeel Malik explained that the political role in different provinces of Pakistan keeps changing according to the situation, like in Sindh, the PPP is in government, and the PML-N is playing the role of opposition.

The Minister of State said that despite political differences, all parties will have to continue to cooperate with each other to run the democratic system and strengthen institutions.
