Balochistan honor killing incident: Post-Mortem report reveals shocking details

QUETTA: The initial post-mortem report of the man and woman shot dead in the Degari area near Quetta reveals shocking details.

The police surgeon, Dr. Ayesha, claims that the guy was shot nine times and the woman seven times. The Degari coal mine graveyard served as the site of the autopsies.

Police surgeons from Sandeman Hospital conducted the examination.

According to the FIR, the case was registered under Sections 302 (murder), 149 (unlawful assembly), 148 (rioting while armed with a deadly weapon), 147 (rioting) of the Pakistan Penal Code and the Anti-Terrorism Act, 1997.

CM Balochistan Press Conference:

Balochistan Chief Minister Sarfaraz Bugti has denied the rumors and said that the murder is being described on social media as the murder of a newlywed couple, while the fact is that the deceased Bano Bibi was already married and the mother of five children, and the deceased Ehsanullah was also married.

Chief Minister Sarfaraz Bugti, while holding a press conference on Monday, said that he had taken notice and ordered the IG to arrest the accused even before the video of the incident went viral on social media.

He added that, so far, 13 people have been arrested in this case, while raids are being conducted to arrest more.

He added that there is no sympathy for any murderer. The state has always stood with the oppressed, and in this case, too, the state is with the oppressed.

He confirmed the suspension of the concerned DSP and said that tribal chief Sardar Sherbaz Khan has also been arrested.

He clarified that the government is conducting a transparent and impartial investigation into the incident.

The Chief Minister said that he would not follow the victim-blaming approach. He said that no one has the right to kill anyone while making personal decisions.

Sarfaraz Bugti also stressed that crimes like killings under the guise of jirgas will not be tolerated under any circumstances, and the government is continuously taking action against such illegal jirgas.

He added that the relatives of the victims are not ready to register an FIR yet, but despite this, a case has been registered at the state level.

Sarfaraz Bugti said that such jirgas will not be supported in the future as well, but only constitutional and legal procedures will be adopted.

He assured that all those involved in the case will be brought to justice, and justice will be ensured at all costs.

Balochistan Viral Video

A horrific incident has shaken the internet as a young Baloch girl, identified as Sheetal, was shot dead on the orders of a tribal jirga, all for marrying the man of her choice.

A gut-wrenching video that has gone viral online shows armed tribesmen taking the girl to an isolated mountainous area. Moments later, gunshots ring out, and Sheetal hits the ground.

The sheer brutality, captured on camera, has sparked a national outcry, once again exposing the deep-rooted, patriarchal violence Baloch women are silently facing.

The killing, allegedly sanctioned by a jirga, a tribal council, is being described as a medieval punishment for honor killings, defying family or tribal decisions.

In troubled regions like Balochistan, where jirga orders override constitutional law, such acts of violence are alarmingly common.

Following the horrific murder, journalists and activists shared the clip online on social media, claiming that the girl was killed for marrying someone of her own free will. The posts gathered online campaigns and demands for justice.

The incident adds to a long list of gender-based atrocities that have gripped the southwestern region, where women’s freedoms are routinely crushed under the weight of tradition and fear.

Sheetal’s case is not just about one girl. It is about generations of Baloch women whose voices have been silenced and whose lives are considered irreplaceable.
