PESHAWAR: In a groundbreaking move, the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has introduced the ”Ehsaas Apna Ghar Scheme” to support lower and upper-middle-class families by offering interest-free loans for the construction, renovation, or expansion of their homes.
According to the Housing Department spokesperson, only the eligible families will be able to receive interest-free loans of up to 1.5 million, with a seven-year time limit for the repayment.
The KP government has allocated a total of Rs 4 billion has been allocated for the scheme, with the maximum monthly installment capped at Rs 18,000.
Eligibility Criteria
To qualify, applicants must meet the following criteria:

Have a monthly income of at least Rs100,000

Own a piece of land
-
Be aged between 18 and 55 years
