QUETTA: The Balochistan government has announced Eid-ul-Adha holidays beginning from June 5, local media said on Monday.
The Eid holiday will be celebrated until June 8, with all government and private offices reopening on June 9 (Monday), which is the third day of the Eid.
The Eid-ul-Adha will be observed from June 7 to 9 throughout the country, said the Ruet-e-Hilal Committee.
Federal Govt‘s Holiday Schedule
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif also granted a four-day public holiday on the auspicious occasion of Eid-ul-Adha 2025, providing plenty of time for Pakistanis to enjoy the religious festival with family and friends.
The official holiday duration is from Friday, June 6, to Monday, June 9, 2025. The news was announced on Friday, one week before Eid, enabling citizens to make their travel and celebration plans in advance.
The decision was received positively throughout the country since it is during the weekend, making it a continuous break for most working Pakistanis.
Eid-ul-Adha or Bakra Eid is one of the greatest religious celebrations in the Islamic calendar, where Muslims celebrate the willingness of Hazrat Ibrahim (AS) to offer his son on God‘s behest. Muslims nationwide will celebrate the day with prayers, sacrificial offerings, and community gatherings.
Government offices, banks, and the majority of private institutions will be closed for the period. Transport terminals are likely to see their traffic increase as individuals make their way to their hometowns to be with their families and celebrate Eid together.
