Expected dates of Ramadan Eid-ul-Fitr in 2025 announced

ISLAMABAD: Ramdan is the ninth month of the holy calendar, during Ramadan, Muslims fast daily from dawn to sunset, abstaining from food, drink, and other bodily needs.

The holy month is also marked by nightly Taraweeh prayers, communal iftar gatherings, and charitable deeds. Ramadan holds great significance as it commemorates the revelation of the Holy Quran.

This is the time of fasting called Sawm. This is one of the Five Pillars of Islam and should promote self-reflection, self-control, and fellow-feeling for others who are in need. When Muslims fast and observe acts of worship, they cannot forget to be compassionategenerous, and kind to people around them.

Expected Date of Ramadan in 2025 

According to the recent estimation, Ramadan 2025 is likely to commence on the evening of Friday, February 28, or Saturday, March 1, 2025.

However, like all Islamic months in Pakistan, the official announcement of the start of Ramadan will made by the Ruet-e-Hilal Committee after the sighting of the moon. The committee, which includes religious scholars from various Islamic sects, determines the exact dates to ensure unity across the country.

After the month of Ramadan, it is followed by a joyous celebration for the Islamic community to break their fast to mark the end of the month, Eid al-Fitr is marked with communal prayers, festive meals, and the giving of alms to others in consideration  of gratitude and unity within the Islamic faith.

In this day, Muslims are prohibited from fasting and engage themselves in discussing the joyful happenings and blessings in the gathering.

Expected Date of Eid-ul-Fitr in 2025

Eid al-Fitr 2025 is expected to fall on either Sunday, March 30, or Monday, March 31; howeverits date will rely on the visibility of the Shawwal moon. In the same manner as Ramadan, the moon sighting committees local and global in their respective territories will determine when Eid al-Fitr will actually begin.
