RAWALPINDI: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Barrister Shoaib Shaheen and former federal minister Fawad Chaudhry engaged in a fight outside Adiala Jail on Saturday.
As per the details, both leaders scuffled at the entrance of Adiala jail’s Gate No. 5. Both exchanged harsh words at first, but later turned it into slaps and verbal abuse.
Sources said that Fawad Chaudhry accused Shaheen of being an “agency tout,” to which Shaheen responded by telling him, “Mind your own business.”
The situation then escalated when Fawad slapped Barrister Shoaib, causing him to fall to the ground and injure his arm. Afterward, both leaders abused each other.
The jail staff present at the spot intervened to break up the fight.
The former minister subsequently entered the jail premises, while Shoaib Shaheen sustained an injury and was called by the jail superintendent.
PTI lawyer Nadia Khattak, who witnessed the incident, condemned Chaudhry’s actions, stating that physical violence was unacceptable despite differences.
“Disagreements were normal but physical violence should not have occurred.” She expressed relief that Shaheen did not suffer serious injuries.
