Good news for passport applicants!

Pakistani passport holders get visa-free access to around 30 countries

ISLAMABAD: Officials confirmed on Thursday that in a significant development, the backlog of passport applications in Pakistan and around the world has been reduced to zero.

According to details, Bangladesh High Commissioner to Pakistan Iqbal Hussain visited the Passport Headquarters, where he inspected various sections and reviewed the passport preparation process.

Director General Passport Mustafa Jamal Qazi briefed the High Commissioner about the latest facilities used in passport preparation. He highlighted the modern lamination techniques, enhanced security features and user-friendly online services introduced for overseas Pakistanis.

The DG Passport further announced that the department has successfully brought the global passport backlog to zero, which is a milestone for the authority.

The Bangladeshi envoy appreciated the technological advancements and administrative reforms, especially those aimed at facilitating citizens living abroad. He also expressed keen interest in the use of artificial intelligence in the passport preparation system.

Appreciating the progress, the High Commissioner said that eliminating the backlog in such a short period of time is a remarkable achievement that reflects Pakistan’s modern governance and adoption of digital solutions.
