BENAZIRABAD: A local holiday has been declared in Shaheed Benazirabad on Monday, November 17, on the occasion of the 754th Urs of Syed Asghar Ali Shah, also known as Sakhi Jam Datar.
According to a notification issued by Deputy Commissioner Shaheed Benazirabad Abdul Samad Nizamani, all government offices, educational institutions, and public departments across the district will remain closed on November 17.
The 3-day annual Urs celebrations of Sakhi Jam Datar will be held in Jam Sahib Town from November 17 to November 19, in which pilgrims and devotees from all over Sindh and other parts of the country will participate in large numbers.
This annual event is considered a prominent spiritual gathering at the regional level, in which religious rituals, Sufi music and langar are specially arranged.

The district administration has finalized security and administrative measures for the convenience of pilgrims and peaceful conduct of the celebrations.
