Govt announces public holidays for 2025

Govt announces three holidays on THESE dates!

ISLAMABAD: As the year 2025 approaches, the federal government is yet to issue a schedule of holidays for the next year, but we can expect some exciting celebrations ahead.

The first holiday across the country would be observed on February 5, and the next would fall on March 23, which is a significant day as it marks Pakistan Day.

In March, the government is expected to announce three holidays for Eid-ul-Fitr, a joyous occasion for Muslims around the world. Additionally, there would be a Labor Day holiday on May 1, which is a great opportunity for workers to take a well-deserved break.

The holiday season would continue with Eid-ul- Adha holidays, which are subject to the sighting of the moon, and Ashura holidays would be observed on Muharram 9 and 10.

On August 14, the nation would come together to celebrate Independence Day, a day that marks the country’s freedom from British colonial rule. Furthermore, the government would also announce a holiday on the eve of Eid Milad-un-Nabi (PBUH) in the month of Rabi-ul-Awal, a significant occasion for Muslims to commemorate the birth of the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH).

There would also be an Iqbal Day holiday on November 9, which is a tribute to the great poet and philosopher Alama Muhammad Iqbal.

Finally, the last public holiday of 2025 would fall on December 25, which is a wonderful way to end the year. Although the Cabinet Division is yet to share the Holidays Calendar 2025, we can expect it to be updated soon.
