ISLAMABAD: Islamabad Traffic Police has launched a new Online E-Learner’s Permit scheme through which citizens can apply for their learner’s driving permit at home.
Chief Traffic Officer Captain (R) Hamza Humayun stated that the service is a manifestation of the police’s ongoing endeavors to increase public services’ modernity and increase licensing accessibility.
Inspector General of Police Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi has also recently extended the time limit for securing valid driving licenses. Citizens have until October 7, 2025, to do so.
How to Apply
The move, according to the officials, is intended to bring more convenience and dispense with the need for citizens to make their way to traffic offices for routine licensing requirements. Citizens can now submit applications on the official website at dlims.islamabadpolice.gov.pk.

From October 8, strict enforcement will start, with motorists caught driving without a proper license being prosecuted, including arrest and car impoundment.
The authorities made it clear that the extension had been allowed to provide citizens with additional time and facilities to undergo the process. Special service counters have been established throughout the city to handle the increase in applicants.
