For individuals who prefer in-person service, ITP’s license branches welcome walk-ins or scheduled appointments and continue to offer on-the-spot issues following medical/eye checks.
Islamabad Police administration also publishes the fee schedule and other administrative requirements online; applicants should visit the official ITP sites and DLIMS portal to avoid third-party middlemen and only utilize authentic methods.
Earlier, Islamabad police provided a one-week extension in the deadline for citizens to obtain driving licenses, shifting it from October 1 to October 7.
The move was taken on the special directions of Inspector General of Police (IGP) Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi to facilitate the people further.
Under the Islamabad Traffic Police (ITP), from October 18 onward, a strict operation will commence against drivers and motorcyclists who are driving vehicles without valid driving licenses. Offenders will be prosecuted, including arrest and vehicle impoundment.
The authorities have also made it clear that persons found driving without a license would not be issued character certificates until they obtain a license.
