Imran Khan says he has one last card to play

Former world cricket legends voice concern over Imran Khan’s health in jail

RAWALPINDI: PTI founder’s sister Aleema Khan said the firing incident cannot be forgiven, adding that ‘I failed to stop the people, Bushra Bibi‘s leadership and other leadership should have stepped forward’.

According to Aleema Khan, the PTI founder is in shock over the D-Chowk incident. She directed that the first FIR be registered against Mohsin Naqvi and Shehbaz Sharif. The founder also mentioned having a “last card” that is yet to be played and said that he will submit a report to the Supreme Court and international bodies on the D-Chowk incident.

Speaking to the media outside Adiala Jail, Aleema further said that ‘there were rumours that the founder was being poisoned or his mental health was deteriorating. During our meeting, he assured me that he was completely fine but was detained for 50 hours without access to newspapers or TV.

Aleema revealed that the founder was deeply shocked to learn about the Islamabad incident. “They were told that 12 bodies have been identified, but many are still missing or in jails. Families are desperately searching for their loved ones and some bodies are missing,” he said.

The founder directed supporters to visit hospitals to gather information but they were told that those who went to hospitals were being detained. He said that our people were exercising their constitutional rights. It is a tragedy that protesters were targeted by snipers during the day and an entire brigade was attacked at night.

He compared the incident to the Lal Masjid and Akbar Bugti operations, warning that such actions only fuel public anger. Referring to the incidents of May 9 and February 8, he said, “People were already angry at the taking away of their rights and now this atrocity has intensified their anger.”

Alima also shed light on the chaos that occurred during the sniper attack, saying, “When the firing started and the bodies were falling We urged the protesters to move back from the containers, but no one thought they would open fire. I kept shouting for people to move back because the shots were being fired, but they kept moving forward. The question is, why were the shots fired in the first place?
