ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan on Saturday asked overseas Pakistanis to stop remittances from tomorrow (Sunday).
Expressing her views, PTI founder’s sister, Aleema Khan, said: “The ousted prime minister has demanded the release of unjustly detained workers.”
She said people have recognised those who stood up for the truth. She expressed confidence that the PTI founder will be convicted in the 190-million-pound reference case.
Aleema maintained: “Trial court convictions often get relief from high courts.”
Terming the case as ridiculous, she questioned: “Why is a fine being imposed for forming a welfare organisation?”
Aleema expressed confidence that the reference would eventually be dismissed in the High Court. She confirmed that if convicted, she would appeal the case in the High Court, and Imran Khan could face another three to four months in prison.
Talking about political issues, she highlighted that more cases against party workers have made the government’s willingness to negotiate clear. Imran Khan demanded the release of unjustly detained workers and a judicial commission to investigate the incidents of May 9 and November 26.
She made it clear that the campaign would be suspended if negotiations on both demands were initiated.
