JI celebrates ceasefire agreement between Israel & Hamas in Gaza

Jamaat-e-Islami announces protest against on December 21

KARACHI: The Jamaat-e-Islami JI celebrated Thanksgiving Day  in Karachi on the occasion of cease-fire between Israel and Hamas in Gaza. Scores of JI workers and supporters attended the ceremonywhich also featured speeches by the Jamaat-e-Islami Pakistan Chief Hafiz Naeemur Rehman and Hamas leader Khaled Qaddoumi. 

They vowed that under the leadership of Gas‘s brave people and the freedom fighters, Palestine would achieve its ideological and geographical independence.

Hafiz Naeemur Rehman termed the ceasefire a victory of faith and patienceberated the US for espousing Israel, adding that  notwithstanding immense challenges, the people of Gaza demonstrated exemplary resilience and defeated Israel.

He said that the economy of Israel has been reduced to tatters and its internal structure is crumbling, adding Israeli ministers were seen weeping after signing the ceasefire.

Hafiz Naeemur Rehman reiterated solidarity with Palestine, called for boycott of Israeli products, and hailed the success of the Al-Aqsa Storm operation, which foiled the attempts of several countries to recognize Israel.

Khaled Qaddoumi appreciated the support from Pakistan and said that the population of Gaza faced severe hardships as 90% of them were rendered homeless, yet remained united for their cause.

He praised the patience and endurance of the people of Gaza, which led to Israel’s defeat and revealed that more than 10,000 Israeli soldiers were either killed or injured in the war and that it shattered the military ego of Israel.

As the ceasefire was declared, thousands of Palestinians who had been displaced returned to their homes and found an apocalyptic landscape of rubble and destroyed buildings. The 42-day truce mediated by Qatari, US, and Egyptian mediators will allow rush of humanitarian aid into Gaza and work out the modalities of a permanent ceasefire.

 Jamaat-e-Islami in Bahawalnagar has also thanked for the ceasefire dealcalled it a step forward, and a landmark achievement for Muslims. Meanwhile, Governor Sindh Kamran Khan Tessori announced that Friday will be observed as a thanksgiving day to mark the announcement of the ceasefire agreement
