KP govt increases Ramadan package 2026

KP govt increases Ramadan package 2026

PESHAWAR: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa cabinet has approved a Ramadan Relief Package to provide financial assistance to low-income families across the province, following directions from Chief Minister Muhammad Sohail Afridi.

The decision was made during the 47th cabinet meeting. The package will provide cash assistance to 1.063 million families who will receive an average payment of Rs. 12,500 during the Ramadan month.

A spokesperson for the provincial finance and economy department said the government had introduced a Ramadan relief package in 2024 when eligible families received Rs. 10,000 each.

He explained that this year’s increase was necessary because inflation has caused sugar and wheat flour prices to rise. The spokesperson reported that the chief minister approved a 25 percent increase in the assistance amount to provide greater support to families during Ramadan.
