ISLAMABAD: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has decided to take legal action against the Islamabad police following a raid on the K-P House in Islamabad.
A provincial cabinet meeting, chaired by Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur, will discuss the raid and approve legal proceedings against the police action.
This move comes after the Capital Development Authority (CDA) sealed the K-P House due to building regulation violations. The CDA had issued several notices to the house’s management regarding the expiry of its lease, with the latest notice sent on May 3.
However, the management took no action, prompting the sealing of multiple blocks of the facility. Special Magistrate Sardar Muhammad Asif executed the sealing, accompanied by Assistant Commissioner Abdullah and a CDA team.
Additionally, Chief Minister Gandapur’s valuables, including two iPhone 15 Pro Max devices, personal documents, a wallet, and a licensed firearm, went missing from the K-P House during the D-Chowk protests.
The loss of his mobile phones has disrupted his communications, and Gandapur has sought help retrieving the contacts. Islamabad’s Inspector General of Police is investigating the incident.
The cabinet meeting will also review 18 other agenda points, demonstrating the government’s commitment to addressing various issues.
The K-P House, also known as The Frontier House, is located on Agha Khan Road in Islamabad and serves as a government institution.
