Lahore metro bus services suspended due to ongoing PTI protest

Islamabad-Rawalpindi Metro Bus Service completely suspended

LAHORE: The provincial capital metro bus service has been suspended amid the political tension surrounding the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf (PTI) protest, leaving hundreds of commuters in terrible conditions in Pakistan’s second-largest metropolis.

Due to a police crackdown on protesters, the Metro Bus route was somewhat curtailed over the weekend, but today the entire service has been shut down. Public transit has been severely disrupted by the closure of all Metro Bus stops.

However, Commuters are still being served as normal by the Orange Line train service, which is still fully functioning. Along with the Metro Bus suspension, there has been a partial suspension of mobile services and WIFI signals in some areas of Lahore.

Several users have complained that their mobile phone signals are disrupted making it difficult to communicate.  Disruptions to mobile have affected the overall functionality of WhatsApp and other apps as well.
