LAHORE: The Lahore Traffic Police have commenced night patrolling of all 44 traffic sectors of the city to maintain vehicular flow and safety on the roads ahead of Eid al-Adha.
Chief Traffic Officer (CTO) Dr. Athar Waheed explained that inspectors in charge will be wearing in night shifts and will deploy their team for the purposes of managing vehicular movement across the city.
Patrolling vehicles will operate through the night and will remain subject to ample checks by senior officials at any time to ensure it is effective.
Dr. Waheed also stated that, in addition to controlling traffic, patrolling teams have been instructed to check e-challan defaulters while on their stops to enhance compliance and reduce infractions on the road.
This work is intended to be a continued effort to manage movement for traffic police in the city during periods of high utilisation when traffic volume goes up during Eid.
